Site Selectors Guild Elects New Chair and Board of Directors

April 11, 2023

The Site Selectors Guild, the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants, has elected Larry Gigerich, executive managing director of Ginovus, as board chair. Gigerich joined the Guild in 2013 and has since served in various leadership roles including most recently as vice chair.

As a nationally recognized economic development leader, Gigerich has more than 30 years of local and state government, not-for-profit and private sector experience. In 2002, he founded Ginovus, a boutique site selection, location modeling, incentive procurement/compliance management and economic development strategy professional services firm based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Ginovus team advises companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 corporations to start-ups, through the entire life cycle of the site selection process.

“I am very fortunate to build upon the outstanding work of the Site Selectors Guild’s preceding chairs,” Gigerich said. “The Guild has taken important steps since its founding in 2010 to advance the site selection profession and deepen relationships between economic development professionals, site selection consultants and corporate executives. The Guild is now in the unique position to broaden its reach in the site selection industry, and I look forward to working with our members and partners to reinforce our mission.”

In addition to the chair, the following Guild members have been elected to the board and will serve as officers:

  1. Seth Martindale, senior managing director at CBRE, Inc., will remain on the board and serve as vice chair.
  2. Phil Schneider, president at Schneider Strategy Consulting, LLC and a prior board chair, will remain on the board and serve as treasurer.
  3. John Rocca, managing director at JLL Consulting, will remain on the board and serve as secretary.
  4. Michelle Comerford, industrial and supply chain practice lead at Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Company, will remain on the board.
  5. Chris Lloyd, senior vice president and director of infrastructure and economic development at McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC and a prior board chair, will remain on the board.
  6. Gregg Wassmansdorf, senior managing director of global strategy and consulting at Newmark and immediate past board chair, will remain on the board.

Board members are elected for a staggered two-year term and receive a small annual stipend for their work. They receive day-to-day support from the managing director who executes the Board’s vision and strategy.

The Guild also appointed Kim Moore, executive managing director at Newmark, and Lawrence Moretti, principal at LFM Corporate Location Solutions, as board advisors for the 2023-2024 term. Board advisors play a vital role of advising the board of directors on all matters related to the Guild, including strategy, meeting and conference management, marketing and public relations and media and legal support. This role was created to foster learning for Guild members with an interest in serving on the board in the future.

“The fact that Larry’s fellow board members elected him chair is a true testament to his strategic mindset and keen leadership skills which have been evident through his service over the past two years as board treasurer, and most recently board vice chair,” said Charlie Jewell, managing director of the Site Selectors Guild. “His experience and skillset positioned him well to effectively lead the board and carry the Guild to new heights over the next year.”
