2018 Annual Conference Preview

The Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference provides a unique and unmatched opportunity for networking and interaction between SSG members and economic developers. Our goal is to always host an exceptional conference and promote learning, networking and relationship building by offering a conference setting and program that is stimulating, thought-provoking and ultimately helps everyone become better at their jobs.

The 2018 Annual Conference will take place March 19-21 in Cincinnati at the Hilton Netherland Plaza. We will kick off the conference on the evening of March 19th with a welcome reception for all conference attendees at the Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball team.

Tuesday morning, the conference will officially begin with opening remarks from Dhani Jones of the Bowtie Foundation. The keynote speaker, Andy Cohen of Gensler, will be speaking about the “Future of Cities: the Game-Changing Impacts of the Driverless Car”. After the first networking break of the day, our program will continue with an expert panel, which will cover “Three Views on Innovation and Disruption.”

The core of the Annual Conference is our breakout sessions moderated and paneled by SSG members. Topics will include:

  1. Labor and Talent
  2. Economic Incentives
  3. Transportation Logistics
  4. Site Development and Infrastructure
  5. Energy
  6. Site Selection Process and Policy Impacts
  7. Global topics.

The breakout sessions will be repeated so conference attendees have the opportunity to attend as many sessions as possible.

Wrapping up the first full day of the Annual Conference is the not to be missed Annual Site Selectors Guild Dinner and Talent Show, featuring Jay Garner and the Southern Aires, the backing band for the economic developers who will be showcasing their musical abilities on stage.

After a resounding success in Seattle at the 2017 Fall Forum, Table Talk will take place on the final day of the conference. Table Talk is a unique opportunity for conference attendees to ask SSG members their questions and foster insightful discussion in a small group setting.

Thank you to REDI Cincinnati for their work to put together a successful conference. We would also like to thank all of our conference sponsors for their generous support and all of the participants who are attending. We encourage you to join the conversation on Twitter using #SSGCincy. Even if you can’t attend, follow along to see the exciting conversations and information coming out of the conference.
