Skopje, Macedonia— The Site Selectors Guild (SSG), the world’s largest group of senior site location advisors, honored Invest Macedonia with the 2017 International Best Practice in Investment Promotion Award at its annual conference, March 15, 2017.
At the event, individual professionals from North American economic development organizations (EDOs) are nominated by SSG members and are selected based on mastery of process; ingenuity and creativity; going above and beyond; political acumen; staying power; and personal, caring touch.
“We recognize the top performers in economic development,” said SSG Board Chairman Mark Williams. “They are indispensable partners of the Guild and their outstanding efforts deserve to be celebrated.”
Additionally, SSG members nominate Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) from around the world for the International Best Practice Award. Invest Macedonia was honored this year with this prestigious award, following IDA Ireland and CzechInvest as previous winners. As chairman of the SSG International Committee, Roel Spee presented Invest Macedonia with the award for their work attracting and developing foreign investment and cooperation with site selection consultants.
“Invest Macedonia has done excellent work in the international space,” said Spee. “Especially for a country of its size, with a population of just over 2 million, they are truly excelling. We are proud to honor them with this award.”
The Excellence in Economic Development Awards were created to promote positive interactions between site selection professionals and EDOs/IPAs, to encourage innovation by highlighting best practices, and to introduce and advance high standards for the site selector profession.
