LEADERS FROM MISSISSIPPI, OKLAHOMA, NEW JERSEY AND FRANCE TOP THIRD ANNUAL SITE SELECTORS GUILD EXCELLENCE IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

Communities and Individuals Recognized for Outstanding Performance and Professionalism in Economic Development – Award Ceremony Held at Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference in Denver on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

LITTLE ROCK, AR (February 26, 2014) –Site Selectors Guild President Jerry Szatan has announced this year’s recipients of the Guild’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards. The award recipients were recognized for their achievements at the 2014 Site Selectors Guild Conference in Denver, CO.

• Joe Max Higgins, CEO, The Link, Golden Triangle (Mississippi)
Mr. Higgins worked thoughtfully and methodically to position and prepare his community to successfully respond to the needs of major investors including, among others, Yokohama Tire Corporation.

• Kurt Foreman, Executive Vice President, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber
Exceptional economic development work by Kurt Foreman and the Oklahoma City Chamber that involved coordinated efforts by many stakeholders helped land GE’s newest Global Research Center, a major new oil and gas R&D facility. This new industry specific center joins other R&D facilities that GE operates in strategic global areas.

• Tracye McDaniel, CEO, Choose New Jersey
Ms. McDaniel exhibited outstanding effort to create and pilot one of the very first, privately-funded, statewide economic development organizations and to have set new job creation and retention records since its founding.

• Dominique Mariani, CEO, Lille’s Agency

• Yann Pitollet, CEO, Nord France Invest

• Luc Doublet, President, Lille’s Agency and Nord France Invest
In the face of strong competition, Lille’s Agency and Nord France Invest worked closely together to meet demanding project requirements for IBM’s newest European delivery center.

An appreciative Szatan remarked, “Our partnerships with economic developers are critical to the success of our projects.
