Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation (JCIDC) was formed in 1984 to promote industrial and economic development through the attraction and retention/expansion of existing industry. JCIDC formed the Workforce Partnership in 1999 to focus on workforce development, which is a key component of the organization today. Jackson County also is a founding member of the South Central Indiana regional ED marketing group, which was created in 2002.
