Become a Member

Comprised of the industry’s top site selection consultants, the Site Selectors Guild welcomes new members who are fully committed to our mission and core values. Members are peer-nominated, vetted and must demonstrate significant professional location advisory experience.

Interested in Applying?

Applying for Guild membership is by invitation only through the Membership Committee. The Committee manages two membership cycles a year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Invitations are typically extended in early April (Spring cycle) and early September (Fall Cycle).

Express Interest

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full and Associate membership is restricted to individuals actively engaged as site selection professionals versus real estate brokers, incentives negotiators; and community development consultants; and it is not available to organizations
  • Remit payment for yearly membership dues
  • Demonstrate deep experience and expertise and be actively engaged in the business of providing corporate site selection services. Provide peer and client referrals and the established respect of other site selection professionals and industry participates are essential to admission, which should include information about the nature of the applicant and the applicant’s firm’s work on the project, including the scope of the applicant’s services and the applicant’s role in the project.
  • Adhere to Code of Conduct established by the Site Selectors Guild, Inc.

Full Membership

Requirements & Responsibilities

In addition to the eligibility requirements above, Full members are required to:

  • Be a recognized leader in the site selection practice as an employee, representative or affiliate of any organization
  • Submit three (3) referrals from economic development or investment promotion agencies with which the applicant has worked while engaged as a private sector site selector
  • Submit three (3) referrals from past site selection clients on projects the applicant has worked on over the past five (5) years
  • Demonstrate site selection projects by company and/or project code in which the applicant played the leadership role over the past five (5) years
  • Have at least seven (7) years of site location experience and demonstrate the applicant has led and are leading projects where the applicant interfaced with corporate leadership
  • Be leaders in the site selection field and demonstrate they are published and quoted as experts in the field
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct established by the Site Selectors Guild

Associate Membership

Requirements & Responsibilities

In addition to the eligibility requirements above, Associate members are required to:

  • Be a recognized professional in the site selection practice as an employee, representative or affiliate of any organization
  • Submit three (3) referrals from economic development or investment promotion agencies with which the applicant has worked while engaged as a private sector site selector
  • Submit three (3) referrals of past site selection clients on projects the applicant has worked on over the past three (3) years
  • Demonstrate site selection projects by company and/or project code name in which the applicant played a significant role over the past three (3) years
  • Have at least three (3) years of site selection experience, with multiple site selection projects during that period
  • Be recognized professionals in the site selection field
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct established by the Site Selectors Guild, Inc.

Membership Admission Process

All prospective Full and Associate member applicants must submit an application for appropriate membership category of interest. Potential members will only be admitted following an extensive due diligence process and peer review of a completed application submitted before the deadline. The membership committee will recommend an applicant for membership if they meet all experience, leadership, Guild policy and code of conduct requirements, and Board approval is required for new non-shareholders. The Guild is not required to accept any new members in any given year and is not obligated to share the results of the new member due diligence or voting process.
