Site Selectors Guild Launches Site Selection Matters Podcast
Hosted by Rick Weddle, Executive Director
Little Rock, May 21, 2019 — Site Selectors Guild, the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants, has launched a new podcast. Site Selection Matters is a podcast that takes a close look at the art and science of site selection decision making with host, Rick Weddle, executive director of the Site Selectors Guild.
Weddle says, “Listen to Site Selection Matters and you’ll hear firsthand just why it is so important for companies to retain and hire a professional site selection consultant to advise them in siting new corporate facilities.” He also notes that, “Our listeners will also get an inside look at the business of corporate site selection.”
The first episode featured Holly Sullivan, the head of Amazon’s worldwide economic development, and Stephen Moret, president and CEO of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, who was involved in Amazon’s selection of Arlington as an HQ2 location. They will discuss the dynamics that led Amazon to select northern Virginia as a HQ2 site.
Every couple of weeks, Site Selection Matters plans to bring the listeners a new episode that introduces them to different members of the Site Selectors Guild and offers insight into the best and next practices in the profession.
Fans of the podcast can contact Rick Weddle via email at [email protected] to provide feedback and ideas for the podcast. To listen to the podcast, visit http://siteselectorsguild.com/site-selection-matters/ or subscribe on iTunes, Spotify or Stitcher.
About The Site Selectors Guild
The Site Selectors Guild (SSG) is a professional association comprised of the world’s leading corporate location advisory consultants to companies looking to build or expand. The mission of SSG is to advance the profession of corporate location strategy by raising awareness of the value professional location strategy and site selection services create for corporations.
Professional site selectors often serve as a barometer for the overall economy – when companies are growing and expanding, they turn to site selectors for location advisory assistance. If projects slow down or stop coming in to site selectors, it is an early indicator that business may be headed for a downturn. Guild members are also committed to sharing thought leadership and best practices, developing and nurturing relationships between SSG members, economic development organizations and corporate stakeholders, and contributing to policy discussions that affect location strategy and the future of the profession.
All members of SSG have been nominated and approved by their industry peers. As the first and only group of its kind, SSG brings together a dynamic network of site selectors from around the world, combining their talent and expertise to create an invaluable, top quality resource for both corporations seeking site selection assistance and economic development organizations.
