REDI Sites (Readiness Evaluation for Development and Investment), the first national site readiness designation program in the United States, has announced 26 newly designated industrial sites across 10 states. Together, the properties represent 5,545 acres evaluated against a consistent national standard for investment readiness.
The new designations were announced at the 2026 Site Selectors Guild Fall Forum in Cleveland. The program now includes 106 sites, with 68 designated and 38 moving through the process.
Portfolios move into the program
This round highlights growing portfolio participation. Louisiana Economic Development accounts for 14 of the 26 designations, the first state portfolio to move through REDI Sites at scale. CN accounts for seven, including two Platinum sites, with more of its sites still in review.
Every site that completes the process earns a designation that reflects its current level of readiness. Terracon first conducts an independent engineering review of each site’s documentation. REDI Reviewers, practicing members of the Site Selectors Guild, then evaluate the site across five weighted categories: Utilities (30%), Ownership & Entitlements (20%), Environmental (20%), Ease of Development (15%) and Logistics Infrastructure (15%).
“You don’t have to be Platinum to start,” said Didi Caldwell, Chair of the REDI Sites Board and CEO of Global Location Strategies. “A Bronze designation tells a community what it takes to reach Silver, and Silver shows what separates a site from Gold. The value is knowing where you stand and having a clear path forward on your readiness journey.”

REDI Sites added Stevie Chavez as Director, Sales & Business Development. Chavez brings more than 25 years across economic development, foreign direct investment, technology platforms and GIS.
“Our industry needed a more consistent national standard for site readiness,” said Chavez. “The designation process goes beyond checking boxes. It helps communities answer the questions a site selector will ask before they ever pick up the phone.”
The next review group is already taking shape. Communities, utilities, railroads and economic development organizations interested in designating one site or an entire portfolio can contact Stevie Chavez at [email protected] or Nicki Dallison at [email protected].
