Operations Manager Assistant
for Site Selectors Guild & REDI Sites
I. INTRODUCTION
The Site Selectors Guild, Inc. (the “Guild”) is the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants. Guild members provide location strategy to corporations across the globe and for every industry, sector, and function. Founded in 2010, the Guild now comprises 67 members, many of whom are shareholders of the Guild. Our members currently hail from North America, Europe, and Asia. A volunteer-driven, for-profit corporation, the Guild has evolved from its beginnings as a relatively unstructured gathering of competitors to become a more cohesive, collaborative, and collegial organization. REDI Sites is a new initiative of the Site Selectors Guild and the new national standard for assessing site readiness for U.S. office and industrial projects.
The Operations Manager Assistant will support the Managing Director and the organization by improving operational efficiency, managing day-to-day administrative functions, assisting with financial management, and supporting the strategic objectives set by the leadership. The position will also assist staff with REDI Sites. The Operations Manager Assistant position will be a full-time, contract position with Pick It Up! Management & Consulting. This position is fully remote, with a preference for the Phoenix, Arizona, market.
II. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Roles and responsibilities of the Operations Manager Assistant include:
- Oversee the daily administrative operations of the Guild;
- Implement and maintain operational best practices, including management of our association/management software and master files;
- Assist with preparation for board of directors and committee meetings;
- Respond to Guild Member and Partner inquiries related to administrative items;
- Respond to various entities required information from the Guild and refer to the appropriate person;
- Manage internal communications program;
- Assist with invoicing and account follow-up;
- Administratively support the Guild Partner program through communications, online directory maintenance, managing accounts receivable for the program, and assisting with Guild Partner events as needed;
- Assist with project management for the Guild’s various programs and projects; and
- Provide financial and administrative support to the Guild’s REDI Sites program.
III. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Operations Manager Assistant will report directly to the Managing Director.
IV. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in operations management, preferably with a membership organization, professional association, or nonprofit;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Be highly organized and able to work independently;
- Experience with working with third-party professional service providers;
- Ability to work remotely;
- Have strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications; and
- Ability to travel on occasion (approximately 1-2 times per year).
V. DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- Canva or design skills;
- Experience with GrowthZone or similar CRM products; and
- An understanding of economic development and/or site selection principles.
VI. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field, and at least three (3) years of work experience.
