Hiring: Executive Director Position
Thank you for your interest in the Site Selectors Guild Executive Director position. We are no longer accepting applications for this position.
The Site Selectors Guild, the only professional association of the world’s foremost site selection consultants, is seeking a dynamic self-starter to become its first full-time Executive Director. As the “face” of our organization (and our only employee) you will administer the day-to-day business of the Guild; help execute our new strategic plan; form new alliances; increase opportunities for collaboration among Guild members; grow membership; and always be investigating new means to increase revenues. This position reports to the Board of Directors; you will be supported by a network of existing service providers including our accounting firm, legal advisor, marketing and communications provider and event planner.
Founded in 2010, the Guild is a for-profit corporation, operating virtually and comprising 44 members. Our primary mission is raise the visibility of the site selection profession among corporate location decision-makers. Our annual conference, which consistently sells out, has changed the landscape for such events in our industry and has become a major (and reliable) source of revenues.
We are seeking someone of the highest caliber and integrity who is capable of working independently and of thriving in a startup-type environment. The ideal candidate will have had experience managing a volunteer-driven organization (particularly a small trade or professional association). Prior P&L responsibility at the organization, firm or divisional level is a must. Working knowledge of site selection, economic development and business/investment attraction is helpful but not required, particularly if you are the type of person who is eager to learn about new businesses and industries. Finally, because we are a virtual organization some travel (for meetings and selected events) will be expected.
We can offer the selected candidate a competitive compensation and benefits package; a role that will provide plenty of opportunities for career growth and personal satisfaction; and the ability to work remotely. We also will devote the budget and resources necessary for the new Executive Director to perform effectively in this role.
