The Site Selectors Guild Releases Site Readiness Report
The Site Selectors Guild (the Guild), the professional association of the world’s leading corporate location advisors, has released a new report on the effectiveness of site readiness programs, titled: Ready or Not: The Value & Future of Site Readiness Programs in Corporate Location Decisions.
Now active in at least 36 states, site readiness programs have become a valuable tool for economic development organizations to attract projects, while also helping companies and site selection consultants to make faster, more informed decisions on the viability of potential sites. But fast adoption without a defined standard has led to significant inconsistencies from program to program.
Co-authored by Guild members Darin Buelow of Deloitte Consulting LLC, Didi Caldwell of Global Location Strategies, Phil Schneider of Schneider Strategy Consulting and John Sisson of The Next Move Group, the report calls for a standardized national system for site readiness certifications to benefit to the entire site selection industry, from economic developers and site selection consultants to expanding companies.
“The Site Selectors Guild is uniquely positioned to evaluate the site readiness landscape thanks to the diverse breadth of the Guild’s membership experience,” said Site Selectors Guild president and Chief Executive Officer Rick Weddle. “The Guild’s new white paper aims to demystify the complexities around site readiness and to make recommendations for how we pave a new set of standards for the industry.”
