Annual Conference

Each year, the Guild holds its marquee Annual Conference event with all 51 global Guild members in attendance. The cornerstone of the SSG Annual Conference is knowledge sharing, an interactive exchange of ideas and networking between the Guild members and economic developers and investment promotion professionals from around the world. Guild members plan all conference content, including bringing in expert outside speakers, and also serve on panels and participate in breakout sessions with conference attendees for the purpose of sharing insights and fostering discussion.

The Guild’s Annual Conference provides multiple opportunities for networking between attendees and among Guild members and attendees. One fun aspect of the Annual Conference is an annual networking dinner and talent show which features both Guild members and economic developers showing off vocal and musical abilities.

Also at the Annual Conference, the Guild’s annual Excellence in Economic Development and Excellence in International Investment Promotion awards are presented to outstanding EDOs and IPAs who have gone above and beyond in their work. Guild members nominate organizations for these prestigious annual awards, which are heavily promoted by the Guild via all marketing channels.
